About salesgamification.io
This page explains who builds salesgamification.io, why we started it in 2026, the problem we set out to solve, how we price, and the published rules we follow when we write about competitors — including our own product.
The problem we started from
Software in this category has existed for well over a decade, and the products are good — we rank them, our own included, in our 2026 software rankings. You can have a leaderboard on a screen the same afternoon you sign up. What none of them solve is the part that actually takes weeks: deciding what to measure.
A sales manager opening any of these platforms faces the same blank page. Is a demo worth three dials or fifteen? If we rank on revenue, does the rep with the inherited book win every month until everyone else stops trying? Which contest do we run first, for how long, and what stops it being gamed in the final 48 hours?
Those are judgment calls, and getting them wrong is why so many gamification programmes are quietly abandoned by month two. Until now they have been answered by a manager guessing, or by a customer success manager attached to a higher-priced tier.
What we built instead
Blueprint makes those decisions. It reads how your team sells, works out which activity actually precedes your wins, and returns a weighted scoring model with the reasoning for every number — plus a gaming-risk audit, a fairness calibration sized to your team's tenure and territory spread, a first competition with a prize pool derived from incremental margin, and a 30-day rollout plan.
Everything it produces is editable, and everything states why. A manager should be able to defend the scoring model to the team who have to live under it, which means the reasoning has to be visible rather than hidden inside the product.
What we believe about pricing
This category bills per seat, which means a team-performance product charges you more for growing your team. It also produces seat minimums that lock small teams out entirely. We price the team instead: one flat price, no minimums, monthly billing.
AI is included on every plan rather than sold as a per-seat surcharge. Two of the platforms we track charge separately for the capability that appears in their headline, which we think is the wrong way round. What the rest of the market charges is documented, with sources, in the Pricing Index.
How we write about competitors
We publish comparisons that include our own product, which is a conflict of interest, so we hold ourselves to published rules about it. Only primary sources. Every figure dated. Our product labelled everywhere it appears, and ranked first only for the segment where it genuinely wins. Where a competitor is the better answer, the page says so plainly — the deepest coaching workflow, the best cross-department dashboards and the strongest physical-floor recognition in the category all belong to other people, and our rankings say that.
The full set of rules, including what we refuse to publish, is at /methodology.
