Google Sheets integration

Google Sheets sales leaderboard

Sales Gamification works with Google Sheets for teams whose pipeline lives in a spreadsheet rather than a CRM. Point it at a sheet, map the columns to activities and outcomes, and the same weighted scoring model, fairness calibration and competition engine run on top of it.

What gets scored in Google Sheets

Rows as events

Each row is an activity or outcome, mapped to a scoring rule by a type column.

Named columns

Rep, date, activity type, value and stage columns map to the scoring model.

Multiple tabs

Separate tabs can feed separate boards — one per team or per motion.

Stage column

The moments that fire, each independently switchable per channel.

Worth knowing about Google Sheets

Logging consistency is the real problem

Spreadsheet pipelines fail on discipline rather than capability — the data is only as good as the last person who remembered to update it. That is why the recommended first competition on a Sheets-backed board scores logging streaks rather than output: fix the input before you rank on it.

Competition ideas

Contests that only work with Google Sheets data

Each of these depends on something Google Sheets tracks natively, so they are worth running here specifically.

Column sprint

Column sprint

Any mapped activity column

Run a contest on whatever your sheet already tracks, without restructuring the spreadsheet first.

Weekly logging streak

Weekly logging streak

Consecutive days with a logged row

Spreadsheet pipelines suffer most from inconsistent logging, so scoring consistency directly is usually the highest-value first contest.

Stage progression race

Stage progression race

Rows whose stage column advanced

Turns a static stage column into a progress metric without adding a CRM.

Setting it up

  1. 1

    Connect the sheet

Authorise access and select the spreadsheet and tab that holds your data.

  2. 2

    Map the columns

Tell it which columns hold the rep, the date, the activity type, the value and the stage.

  3. 3

    Weight the model

Blueprint proposes weights from the activity mix it finds in the sheet.

  4. 4

    Launch

The board runs on the sheet and updates as rows are added.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run sales gamification without a CRM?+

Yes. A Google Sheet with columns for rep, date, activity type and value is enough to run a weighted scoring model, a fairness-calibrated leaderboard and full competitions. Many teams start here and connect a CRM later without losing their history.

What does the sheet need to contain?+

At minimum a rep identifier, a date, and an activity type per row. A value column enables outcome scoring and a stage column enables progression metrics, but neither is required to get a board running.

What if reps log inconsistently?+

That is the usual failure mode with spreadsheet pipelines, and it is why the recommended first contest scores consecutive logging days rather than output. Fixing the input is worth more than ranking on unreliable data.

Can we move to a CRM later?+

Yes. Boards, scoring models and competition history carry over when you connect a CRM, so starting in Sheets does not mean starting again later.

Run your Google Sheets data through Blueprint

Blueprint reads your stage column, weights the scoring model around where the funnel is losing volume, and hands you a competition ready to launch.
